SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Campaign seeks seed money to build a predictive algorithm and educational review system for website dedicated to independent information on medical marijuana.

FindTHC.Info, a cannabis directory and information system, is thrilled to announce the launch of its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. Addressing the void of reliable and trustworthy information in the industry, FindTHC.Info is building a in-depth database of reviews and studies on the different strains and breeds of marijuana. They aim to provide businesses with a service that offers Phenotype, Cannabinoid, and Terpene profiles, rather than hype; and to allow medical marijuana patients to rate items on medical value, potency, and flavor, as well as to find an intelligent, algorithm-driving system of recommendations for their needs.

Legal marijuana sales in the United States soared to $5.4 billion for 2015, up 17.4% from $4.6 billion in 2014, according to the ArcView Group, which tracks the cannabis markets. This rapidly-growing market represents one of the most innovative industries in the United States, with innovations coming out every day in products and goods sold. Furthermore, medical marijuana is showing promising results in alleviating a number of chronic diseases that were previously struggling to find progress in treatments. According to Scientific American, “A large trial published in 2012 found that a cannabis extract significantly decreased muscle stiffness and other [Multiple sclerosis (MS)] symptoms,” and HIV/AIDS patients who were “given a cannabis-like compound were twice as likely to gain weight as patients given a placebo—a boon for people battling the wasting effects of this disease.” Research has even begun studying the benefits of medical marijuana for veterans suffering from symptoms of PTSD.

However, with the rapid growth of the industry, consumers, patients, and businesses alike have had difficulty finding high-quality, trusted information about the products they were purchasing.

“We were tired of the hype and misleading information driving medical marijuana choices, which is why we started FindTHC.Info three years ago,” says Joseph Erndt, Founder of FindTHC.Info. “Since then, we have seen other competitors start up, but no one else offers the comprehensive database of information aimed at supporting informed decision-making within the industry. FindTHC.Info is unique in this, and we are looking to our community to help us expand so we can provide audience-oriented, algorithm-driving recommendations. Making this in-depth database is vital to both the community of breeders and growers and to medical marijuana patients.”

The crowdfunding campaign for FindTHC.Info launched live on Indiegogo on 4/20, in honor of the unofficial pot holiday, and will continue until June 19th. FindTHC.Info is seeking to raise $3000 in seed money to build a comprehensive and valuable database on the strains and medical benefits, as well as to educate the cannabis community on the importance of such a database. Contributor perks include a one-on-one with the CEO himself, a featured listing of your company on the website blog, and an exclusive swag bag.
