The Fourth of July was extra special for more than 4,000 brand new American citizens who were naturalized at 50 different ceremonies across the U.S. Twenty-four of those ceremonies took place on the Fourth. The other twenty-six were held between the 1st and the 3rd.
Did you know that more than 700,000 people become U.S. citizens every year? Photos of some of the Fourth of July ceremonies and our new citizens are posted on the USCIS Facebook page. The page also includes an inspiring minute-and-a-half video of USA birthday wishes and people reciting phrases from our Declaration of Independence.
Be sure to check the USCIS Facebook page for some awesome immigration stories not available elsewhere, as well as insights into the many programs sponsored by and under the authority of the USCIS. You’ll get lots of information presented more in the context of family than bureaucracy.
