Stamford, CT – The exhibition filmed was and art and design themed show with a mixture of fine artists working in the fields of sculpture, mixed media, pottery, printmaking and illustration as well as design comprised of furniture, decorative and functional art. The exhibition was curated by Mike Seri and features artists based in Connecticut, New York and Ohio.
The short documentary showcases the artists dropping their artwork off prior to the exhibiting of the work and interviews about the meaning behind specific pieces exhibited. The opening reception was also documented showcasing the work and interviews with attendees.
In addition, six of the exhibiting artists (Mike Seri, Mary Bailey, Jaynie Crimmins, Liz Alpert Fay, Gregory Clark and Frank Kara) were each separately interviewed at their private studios to speak about their processes, influences and inspirations in their work. The studio visit interviews are an in depth look into the artists whose work range from sculptures made from found objects, abstract flowers made out of wood, mixed media works made from shredded paper, abstract handhooked rugs and pottery from an artist who has also been a percussionist for 30 years.
